Some manufacturers are using a less expensive 1.46mm Polarized Lens. This may pass the impact test and some may make claims that these lenses have passed ANSI impact requirements, however this does not comply with ANSI.Z87.1+ standards for required lens thickness. When buying polarized safety glasses make sure the lens thickness is advertised for polarized safety glasses.
